The Kamakshi Hospital Dental Outpatient Department recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully performing dental implant surgery on a 73-year-old male patient. This case, marking the first instance of two dental implants being placed in the hospital, highlights the advanced capabilities and expertise of the dental team.
A) Volumetric measurement of Bone Availability using CBCT for Virtual Implant planning.
B) Surgical placement of dental implant under local anesthesia.
The patient presented with a failing bridge in his upper jaw, which had been causing considerable discomfort and functional difficulties. After thorough evaluation and consultations, the dental team decided to proceed with implant surgery as a more stable and long-term solution compared to traditional bridgework. Given the patient’s age, meticulous planning was essential to address any potential complications related to bone density and healing capacity. Utilizing state-of-the-art imaging and surgical techniques, the implants were positioned to ensure optimal integration with the existing bone structure. The surgery was performed under local anesthesia, ensuring the patient remained comfortable throughout the procedure.
